There are many historical houses and further up the mountain on the highest slopes, are magnificent modern houses, engineering marvels built into the mountain with spectacular views.

Fresnaye is not far from Cape Town city center, but it is fairly quiet and secluded as it is away from the main roads through Sea Point, and tucked away under the mountainside. The suburb has excellent security.
